Introduction
Mintaka (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Mintaka iOS mobile application. Mintaka is designed to minimize data collection and put users in control of their financial information.
Information We Collect
Financial Data: Financial data you enter into the app—such as transactions, categories, and budgets—is stored locally on your device and synchronized through your private iCloud account. We do not operate external servers for storing your financial data.
Account Information: Mintaka does not require registration or a separate user account. Synchronization uses Apple iCloud services; we do not collect or store Apple ID credentials.
Subscription Information: Subscriptions to Mintaka Pro are processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not receive payment details. Apple may provide limited subscription status, like whether your subscription is active or expired, to unlock features as needed.
Analytics and Usage Data: Mintaka uses Mixpanel to collect anonymized usage data for app performance and product improvement. Analytics data is not linked to your identity. No financial transaction data is collected for analytics purposes, and no advertising identifiers are used. Examples of collected data include app version, device type, feature usage, and screen interactions.
Data Storage and Security
Your financial data is stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud container. Data stored in iCloud is governed by Apple’s security practices. Mintaka does not access or process your financial data outside your device and iCloud.
Data Sharing
Mintaka does not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial data. Third-party services used for app operations, such as Apple infrastructure and Mixpanel, operate according to their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
Retention of your financial data is under your control. If you delete the app and remove your data from your device and iCloud, Mintaka does not retain independent copies.
Children’s Privacy
Mintaka is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). Mintaka does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally. We will update the date at the top of this policy to reflect any changes.
